And yes, these designs can be made personalised. I am an Australian designer currently living in Hong Kong. I was born in Sydney and studied design and jewellery at Sydney City College and the University of NSW. I have designed jewellery and accessories for over 15 years and I’m also a collector and I wanted a more personal and unique experience for my jewellery design. That’s why I’m adding more of my own artwork to the designs. I have a background in graphic design and painting. I enjoy working with sterling silver and other fine materials and I do most of my jewellery making in Hong Kong. What do you like to do when you’re not designing? I like to do a little bit of everything. I’m really into interior design, graphic design and I love to do lots of different crafts. I enjoy doing yoga and spend a lot of time in yoga. I also like to cook and garden. I have a coffee table book about my design inspirations. I like to spend a lot of time in my studio, reading books and doing all the things I enjoy! I’m also going to make a jewellery collection for my dollhouse in the future. Can you share a few words on your jewellery design and how it started? I started making jewellery with sterling silver back in 2000. I was living in Hong Kong and I didn’t have access to my family jewellery collection. I was in the midst of a stressful time and I was having a lot of health issues. I also had a really big crush on a guy who was very rich. I wore the same clothes for a few months and I got really into the aesthetic of the Chanel handbag and the clothes. I bought one of my first Chanel bags and I fell in love with the way it looked and the smooth feel of the leather. I bought the bag for way too much money and it gave me a huge ego boost. It was the beginning of a long journey in becoming a designer. What does your jewellery design process look like? Do you have any routine in your work? Yes, I definitely have a routine. In the past, I made a lot of my jewellery in my studio in Sydney. I’ve moved to Hong Kong and I’m making most of my jewellery here now.
